TEXAMERICAS CENTER TO HOST WEBINAR FOR AREA SMALL BUSINESSES

U.S. Small Business Administration will present on the HUBZone Program certification

Texarkana, AR-TX, June 15, 2017– TexAmericas Center will host a webinar training session in
partnership with the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Small Business Administration on Wednesday, June 21st at the Hilton Garden Inn and Convention Center, Texarkana, TX at 10:00AM. The webinar was planned as part of TexAmericas Center’s outreach efforts for their recent HUBZone Designation and will allow area small businesses the opportunity to learn more about the certification process for the HUBZone Program. All small businesses interested in the HUBZone certification are encouraged to attend.

“Obtaining HUBZone Program designation was a strategic move for TexAmericas Center and our purpose as a redevelopment authority,” said Eric Voyles, Executive Vice President/ Chief Economic Development Officer for TexAmericas Center. “TAC’s property is directly adjacent to the Red River Army Depot and this positions us to be an attractive location for businesses working on federal contracts, especially those with the base. The HUBZone designation allows us to provide our tenants and business prospects with a valuable resource and will act as a job growth tool for the region.”

The U.S. Small Business Administration’s HUBZone Program promotes economic development and employment growth in distressed areas by providing businesses located in historically underutilized business zones—HUBZones—access to more federal contracting opportunities.
The Webinar Training session will begin with the Dallas/Fort Worth District Office providing a brief overview of the SBA’s Program and Services to include other SBA certifications (i.e. WOSB, SDVOSB, SDB, 8(a) Program).

The webinar will include information over:
• HUBZone Program Requirements
• Key HUBZone Program Benefits
• Where to find HUBZone firms
Concluding the session will be information pertaining to the local network of resource partners’ involvement in assisting small businesses– with a brief discussion on the newly implemented “All Small Business Mentor Protégé Program.”

“As part of the Webinar Training session, the U.S. Small Business Administration will highlight all of the designated HUBZone Program areas within the greater Texarkana region. We want to make sure that small businesses throughout the region know that there are HUBZone Programs in addition to TexAmericas Center, including locations in Bowie, Cass, and Miller Counties ” Scott Norton, CEO/Executive Director of TexAmericas Center

About TexAmericas Center
Located in the Texarkana metropolitan area, TexAmericas Center owns and operates one of the largest mixed use industrial parks in the United States. With roughly 12,000 development ready acres of land and about 3 million square feet of commercial and industrial product, TexAmericas Center services the four states (Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas) markets. Texas is the #1 state for business in the United States of America because of its regulatory environment, tax policies, and workforce quality along with exceptional educational resources, infrastructure, and quality of living. Founded in 1997, TexAmericas Center has the operating capabilities of a municipality but functions more like a traditional real estate development company, offering customized real estate solutions. In addition to controlling our own zoning and permitting processes and sustaining the life cycle of public infrastructure on the complex, TAC has the capability to lease, build-to-suit, or facilitate Greenfield owner-constructed projects in a timely and efficient manner. At TAC, we streamline leasing and manage government development processes all through a single point of contact. Our customers benefit from faster market entry by resolving zoning, permitting, inspection, and state and local incentive programs solely through our organization. Additionally, the Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) designated a 101 acre site on TexAmericas Center’s central campus as the first S.T.A.R. Site in Texas (Sites That Are Ready for construction to begin), advancing speed to market for our customers. Tenants of TexAmericas Center tend to be private business owners and corporations seeking flexible and cost effective space solutions.
