Doing Business with TAC

Many companies shy away from doing business with government agencies. The government procurement process seems complex, burdensome, elongated and unlikely to produce a meaningful return on investment.  While becoming a government supplier is not for everyone, it is certainly worth looking into.

TexAmericas Center buys many kinds of good and services, and usually does so from Texarkana area companies.  The most important advantage of selling goods or services to TexAmericas is that we buy goods and services year-round.  However, there are some disadvantages, as the process can be cumbersome, have a steep learning curve, and take 30 to 60 days to pay an invoice.

PURCHASE ORDERS:

TexAmericas Center uses a Purchase Order system to control the process of obtaining common or general goods and services from external suppliers.  A purchase order is a commercial document.  The issuance of a Purchase Order does not itself form a contract.  If no prior contract exists, then it is the acceptance of the order by the seller that forms a contract between TexAmericas Center and seller.  It should be considered the first official offer issued by TexAmericas Center to a seller and indicate types, quantities, and agreed prices for products or services.  A signed Purchase Order may not be modified, amended, or altered except in writing and must be resigned by the authorized representatives of all parties.

REQUESTS FOR PROPOSAL:

TexAmericas Center posts all its contracting opportunities here.  It’s a good idea to browse the site periodically.  This will help you understand the kinds of opportunities that are available to your industry and quickly learn of new opportunities.

Unless otherwise specified in the RFP, bids must be hand delivered during business hours or shipped via USPS, FedEx, UPS or other accountable mail service prior to the deadline.

Small, disadvantaged, minority-owned, women-owned, and veteran-owned businesses are strongly encouraged to participate.
